The three certificate gates

Unlimited, no penalty, invisible to everyone. They're a check for you, not an assessment.
What does 'sent back' mean on an exercise?
The normal path, near-universal on the capstone. Resubmit freely; attempt count never appears on the certificate.
What does the signature protect?
Name, course, competencies and date. Re-checked on every load — altering any of it, even by the issuer, fails verification.
Why publish the public key?
So an employer can verify the credential without trusting our website.
Why are the gates strict?
A credential only means something if it was possible not to get it.
