Signifier is an online UI/UX design course operated by Savinda Rukshan, a sole trader based in Sri Lanka. Contact: hello@signifier.academy.

• You must be at least 16 to use this course or make a purchase.
• You are responsible for your account. Sign-in is by emailed link, so keep access to your email address secure.
• Give us an email address you actually use — access, feedback and your certificate are all tied to it.
• One account, one person. Course access is not transferable, and sharing your sign-in link gives someone else your account.

Access to an online, self-paced course: 9 modules, 63 lessons, and 8 practical exercises. Nothing is shipped. Access is granted to your account and is available immediately on payment being confirmed.

Access does not expire. A purchase includes future updates to this course at no extra cost. It does not include separate courses published later.

Modules 00 and 01 are free to everyone, permanently, with no card required.

• Prices are shown in the currency for the country you are visiting from. The price that applies to your purchase is the one shown to you on the enrolment page.
• Purchases are one-time payments, not subscriptions. Nothing recurs and nothing auto-renews.
• Prices may change. A change never affects a purchase already made.
• Founding-cohort pricing is limited by the number of places stated on the pricing page and ends when they are taken.
• Card details are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store them.

Paid tiers include written feedback on each of the 8 exercises, assessed against the published rubric for that exercise. Feedback is normally returned within five business days.

Feedback is an instructor’s professional judgement. It is not a guarantee that your work will meet any employer’s standard, and nothing here promises employment or any career outcome.

The Mentored tier is capped at a stated number of students per month because it includes scheduled one-to-one time. If sessions are not booked within six months of purchase, they lapse.

A certificate is issued when every lesson is complete, every quiz is passed, and the capstone case study is approved. It is not issued for purchase or for watching alone.

• Each certificate is cryptographically signed and has a public verification page showing your name, the course, the issue date and the serial.
• We may revoke a certificate if it was obtained by misrepresentation, if the work submitted was not yours, or if the purchase was refunded or charged back.
• A revoked certificate remains at its URL and is displayed as revoked, because a credential that silently disappears is not verifiable.

All course material — video, scripts, quizzes, rubrics and written content — remains the property of Signifier. Buying access is a licence to use it yourself, not ownership.

You may:

• Use everything you learn in your own work, commercial or otherwise, with no restriction and no attribution required.
• Put the artifacts you build in your own portfolio, as your work.
• Take notes and keep them.

You may not:

• Share, resell, re-upload or redistribute any of the material.
• Share your account or sign-in link.
• Record, download or re-host the videos.
• Use the material to teach a competing course.

Work you submit stays yours. See the Privacy Policy for what we do with it.

Full refunds within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. The Refund Policy sets out how, and the one exception, which is the Mentored tier once sessions have been delivered.

We may suspend or close an account that shares material, shares access, submits work that is not the student’s own, or abuses the instructor or other students. Where a purchase is closed for these reasons, no refund is due.

We aim to keep the course available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting failures and third-party outages happen. Where an outage is prolonged and our fault, write to us and we will make it right.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to this course is limited to the amount you paid for it.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost income or lost opportunity. This course teaches a skill; it does not promise a job, a salary or a client.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to everyone with an account. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones in force on the day you bought.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute.
